This hardly happens to me w items on Nyaa (but i've found a virus) and Superelmo is quite well known for his game releases on here as well as other sites. My Bitdefender is quite accurate and a leader in the AV industry (which I would recommend to anyone) so I doubt it's a false positive. What makes it worrisome is the instructions are that it doesn't need to be installed but, oh by the way, you should run this "crack" executable before play (which my AV says is a Trojan - see below)....
Unless superelmo or someone else can explain this away then I would recommend erring on the side of caution (I will try to check whether the game works without this file and report back soon).

I can’t really help you if you trust your AV so much. It’s also normal for AV program to detect cracks as viruses.

This is pre-installed version. You don’t need to install the game in order to play it. Like almost all of my English pre-patched releases. I don’t see what’s so worrisome about it. All you need to do is apply the crack, cos the game is protected and you can’t run it unless you buy it or crack it.
Late response but in case someone else reading this and have the same problem.
I think it's something to do with StartUpTool.exe. See if it's not running in the Task Manager and end the process.
So I downloaded the prequel you uploaded and was able to play it without issue. Not sure what this error means, but I appreciate any help you can give me. I did everything as instructed, so I didn't believe I made any mistakes.

Some clarifications about the crack : its not supposed to patch anything. "Alsignup" write some "authorization files" on your computer so the game think you have the cd inserted at one point.
Even if the game is protected by Alpharom there is no point in "dragging the exe on the crack exe". Once "applied", alsignup is not needed anymore.
Regarding the game and Win10. You obviously wants to run it using Locale Emulator, maybe it needs Windows 10 Optional jap fonts (not sure but there is no risk installing them).
Sometimes the game protection prevented the game to be launched (even using LA and Alsignup applied). A simple reboot fixed that.
That said, to ensure future use of this game on later Win10 we need someone able to remove Alpharom from the exe. I managed to find the Entrypoint, but fixing imports is a hassle.
